Prakash Community Library was established in the year 2009 AD in Shreekhandapur, Dhulikhel-8, Kavre, Nepal. After remaining closed for decades, Prakash Pustakalaya was renovated as Prakash Samudayik Pustakalaya under the chairmanship of Mr. Ashok Chandra Dhunju Shrestha. Prakash Community Library is registered as non-profit organisation in CDO, Kavre, Registered No. 1227 and in Social Welfare Council, No. 27643. Objectives: 1) Operate well equipped library, providing services to the people and students of the schools. 2) Build necessary infrastructures for the well-equipped library. 3) Gather resources for different fields of academic, health, agriculture, economic development and IT sectors, etc. Current executive board member comprises of 11 members as follows: |
Under Local Govenment Community Development program of Nepal, the library receives support from the government and the Dhulikhel Municipality to build the fences/walls around the library premises and construct a one storey building. Contribution is also made by the
Prakash Community Library receives support with books worth Canadian $1,500 from Nepal Library Foundation. The librarian had agreement with Nepal Library Foundation on April 7th 2010. The agreement was done in the presence of the local community people and
Prakash Community Library would like to thank the Asia Foundation for supporting the library with books.
